Gaetano Donizetti: L'elisir d'amore
conducted by: Dániel Dinyés
directed by: Pál Göttinger
Opera playhouse is an interactive activity in which children learn to listen to opera actively, as in playing a game. The proximity of the singers and the orchestra make the experience literally within their grasp. The director Pál Göttinger guarantees they will take an active part, while Dániel Dinyés attempts to make the musical content easy to understand.
A permanent feature of the performances is the Budapest String Orchestra, who provide the most imortant part of the operas, the accompaniment. Through them the musical realization of the arias and duets can become still more life-like. There are always two singers in the concerts who play with the children who, instead of being just an audience, learn to work with the opera singers and perform with them. The three occasions will bring three different operas to the table, namely Mozart's Don Giovanni and Donizetti's The Night Bell and L'elisir d'amore.
